How to Organize an Event

Many people want to organize benefit events to help. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  1. Decide who you are helping and giving proceeds to. This can be for residential relief or studio relief. You can also decide to give 50% to residential relief and 50% to studio relief. It's up to you, but deciding in advance is important.
  2. Clearly communicate what the funds are going toward on your flyers, emails, posters, media listings, etc.... People like to know how their contribution will help. For example, "proceeds will be used for LAVA House studio relief" or "proceeds will be donated to LAVA House residential relief".
  3. Communicate with us about the details of your event, so we can list it on this site. Contact Aron Conaway (502-758-8338) with questions, and email details to Aron here:

Please visit the "Help Now / List of Needs" page to make informed decisions about what to do with proceeds.

Lisa's Oak St. Lounge, Tailgators and Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center have offered free space for events for benefits.
Please contact us about arranging one of these events.

Thanks to Everyone for stopping by, calling, and emailing in support and concern. We're doing what we can to move forward from here.
