Wow the "Lava" house indeed.

His dogs name was Helvis. That's awesome. and Iggy.. This guy had to be cool as hell.

This site is great. It's good to see someone is on the ball preserving this and getting the word out..

I'll donate a lil something probably Friday...

YEah I think thats his name. We didn't even know she was living there. She called and was like. I though Mason would find this funny... But really we were like GOT DAMN!! What are you gonna do? All she has left are the clothes she was wearing.

CRASH Posted on 8:27 am on Jan. 29, 2008

That must be Barts GF. Right? I heard she didn't even get her shoes on before she had to jet!! OMG!  I can't even imagine how horrible everything is for her and everyone else that was living there....the blaze was so fucking hot and fast... I think they must be lucky it happened when it did and not in the middle of the night.

Jeez. I'm still so totally in shock

Really.

I would freakin lose my lid if what I saw happen happened to me. Fer real.

Our friend Hannah just called. Apparently she was living there with her boyfriend and they lost EVERYTHING. She said they were going through the rubble and it looked like the only thing that survived was one of Masons plates.

Bill lived at the warehouse and has for the last ten years.. He's actually the original resident. No one knows what happened yet. There were incidents with Bill before--but we don't know if this was the case this time.

so do they know how it started yet? how did the old guy get caught in the building?

that makes me sad.

preliminary speculation puts blame on the old man falling asleep with a cigarette. he was burned pretty severely, and died of his wounds.

TangoUniform Posted on 1:32 am on Jan. 28, 2008
Yeah. Same place I met you for the first time actually... one cursed V-day years ago..

It's really heartbreaking.. I loved LAVA

CRASH Posted on 1:18 am on Jan. 28, 2008
Saw this on the news earlier and wondered if it was the Lava house.. Now was this the place I Dj'd at in some home made corner/loft/DJ booth or another place ?

If it's a different place i don't guess I ever went ?

TangoUniform Posted on 12:45 am on Jan. 28, 2008
The Lava house burned down last night... Mr. Bill, Lava house vet and mascot was critically injured and died this morning.
He was a really bright spirit... not to mention one ire drunk old man...and will be missed....

as will LAVA... one of the most unique buildings and creative spaces in Louisville.
